When is the debate?

You’ve asked this question many times: When will you and Congressman Messmer debate? This week, Mr Messmer answered the question in the comments of a Facebook post: “We have three times.” That is news to me. We shared the stage at three events in the last month: the Warrick County Farm Bureau Candidate Forum, the Sullivan County Farm Bureau Candidate Forum, and the Owen News Candidate Forum in Owen County. As the names describe, those were not debates. He made the same argument in the last election and even stopped giving interviews to the Evansville Courier & Press because they reported he would not debate his opponent. He said he did at an event in Posey County – but that was also a candidate forum. Here we are closing in on Election Day 2026, and no debates have been held and none are scheduled. So, I’ll keep showing up in your communities and listening to you – and I always will.
